A very beautiful section on a good bike path. A visit to Gundelsheim is also worthwhile. It's also not as crowded as some other towns along the Neckar.

The Neckarzimmern Lock is a significant facility on the Neckar River in Baden-Württemberg. It was completed in 1935 as part of the canalization of the Neckar River 1 2. The lock consists of two chambers and has a lifting height of 5.60 meters 1 2. The facility also includes a hydroelectric power plant that operates year-round. The weir bridge spanning the lock is part of the Neckar Valley Cycle Path and is used by both cyclists and pedestrians.

It commemorates the brave boatmen who made a significant contribution to the development and prosperity of the village.

The elegant cable-stayed bridge spans majestically over the Neckar River, offering breathtaking views of the tranquil waters and the surrounding nature. At sunset, the soft light bathes the bridge and the surrounding landscape in warm, golden tones, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The view of Hornberg Castle is particularly stunning.

Apparently, the streets were continually raised – only the fountain remains at its original level. It's a bit low.
