Sir William Hill Road is an ancient packhorse route and a former section of the 1758 Sheffield-Buxton Turnpike. Today it provides an engaging challenge in both ascent and descent - the gravel trail is rough and stony.

Great place for a mid walk pint and lunch.

One of the best cafes in the Peak District. Ice cream in the summer, soup in the winter. Really friendly to cyclists and dogs. Blankets and dog treats available.

A fairly austere building externally, it used to be fairly open access but now the mine is sealed tight. The mine is situated above the plague village of Eyam. It was a ‘mixed ore’ mine which tapped into the Hucklow edge veins. It was opened around 1936 by Glebe Mines Ltd to produce fluorspar for the steel industry (used as flux). It was then taken over by Laporte Industries Ltd in 1959 and operated until it was placed on care and maintenance in March 1979. In March 1986 the headgear was removed and the shaft capped and fenced off. Today the main buildings are still intact and the shaft, although sealed with a metal grid and fenced off, is still in-situ.

Great village, very pretty. Nice place to stop when the sun is out . Bigger than it looks if you cycle along some of the back lanes leading down to Chee dale, Litton, Cressbrook etc.

Nice cafe , in Picturesque location.small outside space for seating but plenty of space for bikes and sitting next door in the public space around the cathedral. Had a lovely bacon Sandwich and coffee to keep me going.😃

In my opinion this is the best cafe in Eyam - it's probably my favourite cafe in the whole of the Peak District! Can highly reccommend the lime and courgette cake, orange and polenta cake, cherry and almond scones. In fact, pretty much everything on the menu is good! They also support other smal businesses and local food producers. If I ever have friends visiting for a bike ride this is always the cafe that I'll take them to. Tideswell Lounge is a cafe in the town that is open Wednesdays to Sundays, and they welcome cyclists. Good menu complimented by a big list of daily specials. Food is very good quality.
