The kind of place where, after a few minutes' walk, you forget you're in the Netherlands. At De Hamert, you'll walk across ancient river dunes from the Ice Age, past vast heathlands and tranquil fens—and suddenly you'll find yourself at a gigantic burial mound: the "Prince's Grave." Thousands of years old. It's quite bizarre to think that people once buried their dead here... and now you're just walking past it. Along the way, with a bit of luck, you'll spot Galloway cattle, numerous birds, and that characteristic silence you can almost literally feel. ✔️ Diverse landscape ✔️ Beautiful vistas ✔️ A touch of mystery & history Tip: take some time at the fens (and if possible, go early in the morning or towards sunset—it's truly magical then).

Beautiful heathland here, and a good view of the surroundings. You can see far in clear weather.

A small viewpoint near the Les Copères cliffs. Getting there requires a bit of surefootedness and sturdy footwear.

Beautiful cliffs on the Meuse River opposite Freÿr Castle. The walk along the narrow paved path along the banks of the Meuse River below the overhanging cliff is quite adventurous. There's a beautiful vantage point on the cliff with a beautiful view of the Meuse and Freÿr Castle.

The Priory of Anseremme originated from a farm belonging to the Abbey of Saint-Hubert, founded in the early 9th century and remodeled in the 16th and 17th centuries. The buildings of Le Prieuré were used by the abbey. Today, the premises are available for rent for weddings and celebrations.

We were very rudely approached and chased off the property as we were leaving. The access situation was unclear to us; all the gates were wide open and inviting. It wasn't clear to us that it was private property; it felt very public. Under no circumstances should we enter. The owner is insulted and argues, and lacks empathy and humanity!
