The Schoberstein road leads through the quarry to Mandlmais – but is it marked as a cycling ban here, or is it not (the sign has been covered over)? The alternative is a 180-meter descent to Trattenbach and back up again (but was currently closed due to logging work).

Shortly after Waldneukirchen, there's a steep descent on easy terrain (a farm track paved with concrete blocks) that extends to Grünburger Straße. Despite the good path, some caution is advised due to the relatively steep gradient. Before the descent, you'll have a very, very nice view of the surrounding area at the top.
