Frogmore Meadows nature reserve is an 11 acre SSSI next to the River Chess. The marshy, grassland habitat are home to water voles, and plants such as meadow foxtail and Yorkshire fog, with some marsh marigold and marsh bedstraw. Lots of butterflies are also resident here. The Chess Valley long distance walking path comes through the nature reserve and there are watercress beds to the east.

When walking from east to west there are three benches seperated a few hundred meters apart (this is the first). All have a great view and are nice places for a rest.

So many dog walkers that you can't enjoy the river or riverside as dogs have muddied all the riverside banks

Follow undulating paths through open fields in a quintessential Chiltern Hills setting alongside the River Chess.

Enjoy scenes of a historic Chiltern Hills country house framed with grazing sheep, rolling hills, and sensational valley views. The house dates back to the 16th century and was once used as a royal residence. Today, the house is used to host events and parties and is also open as a hotel.

Stroll through beautiful open fields filled with friendly sheep. This is a great place for the kids to have a run around, just make sure to keep any pups on a leash.

A perfect rural river setting with a wooden bridge and a lovely mix of grasses and trees, all coloured with nature's palette. Catching the flow at its highest makes for an even more stunning setting!

As I came round the corner, it looked like the path would be flooded but there's a narrow "bridge" passage across this busier part of the river. Take a moment to gaze downstream and be transported back to a simpler time.
