This is a fabulous walk. Feels as though you are in the middle of nowhere but it’s easy to park and get to this walk

About 1/2 mile drive from the trail start point

just riding this parallel to the road on the way to preston is nice too, gentle and flat but more interesting through the woods

The walk is varied (woods and fields and up and down) with some stunning sights plenty of wildlife a tea shop a shop and a few pubs Great way to spend 2 to 2.5 hours

Kimpton village is a great place to start or finish a run. You can grab a bite to eat in one of the many cafés and restaurants, visit Knebworth House, or ponder around the local boutiques shops.

Whitwell is a charming village located near Harpenden in Hertfordshire. It's a great place to stop and refuel during a run. You can visit The Bull Inn for a refreshing drink, or Emily's Tea Room and grab yourself some delicious cakes or coffee.

A local landowner once destroyed the original Ayot St Lawrence Church, because it obstructed the view from his home. He had the church rebuilt, with the hope to have it resemble a temple to Apollo.

Interesting rather than spectacular - looks like doric columns were originally fluted but have been rendered at some point. Restoration in hand at present.

This is Ayot St Lawrence New Church, built by a local landowner to replace the 'old' church which he'd had demolished as it obstructed the view from his home. It was supposed to resemble a temple to Apollo.

Minsden Chapel is a Grade II-listed scheduled ancient monument that was originally built in the 14th century. It fell into disrepair during the 17th century and has remained a mere shell of its former self ever since. The chapel has many associations with paranormal activity and is said to be haunted.

Not open Sunday anymore until 12noon.

A well hidden stop behind the high street in Whitwell. Nice place to grab a coffee with the added bonus of a bike repair/spares shop on the premises.
