Wonderful Ploughman's Lunch - generous cheese portions!

Really cycling-friendly cafe: good food and coffee, drinking water tap, bike racks with plenty of space. Only thing I'd say is that the portions are a little small for the price.

It’s good. Coffee is excellent as is the sausage rolls.

carrot cake is particularly excellent.

A nice section of relatively quiet road north of Lilley. It's undulating rather than hilly and very nice to avoid the busy A6 or A505 which I wouldn't recommend.

Beautiful ride out. The “crumbs” bakery in Watton at Stone is a great place to stop for a re-fuel and is very cyclist friendly, with seating both inside and behind outside, with bike parking out back too

A quiet lane with a generally good surface, occasional potholes but you can find a fast pothole free line.

Whitwell is a charming village located near Harpenden in Hertfordshire. Stop at the Bull Inn for a refreshing drink, or visit Emily's Tea Room and grab yourself some delicious cakes or coffee.

Awesome place for coffee and cake i highly recommend you try the sausage roll. They are opened Wednesday through the weekend for now.

Great new cyclists’ cafe. Friendly service with tasty coffee, cakes, sausage rolls & baguettes. Cleat-friendly flooring, pro cycling on the TV projector, as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor seating & bike rack space. If you can get here, get here.

Can be busy at weekends. Open 8.00-17.00 weekdays, 9.00-17.00 Sat, 10.00-15.00 Sun. Their flat white is called a ‘Nigel’ for reasons I didn’t ask.

Nice coffee stop with plenty of cake options and some hot food. Decent seating outside.

A local legend! Steep and straight, you'll know you've been up a hill! Great views from the top though.

Not open Sunday anymore until 12noon.

Lovely flat lane running through the woods, just as nice in either direction.
