Nice place but a bloody big hill

This bridleway is part of the Cotswolds Way and regularly used by walkers, bikers and bikers. Riding up is only fun in the dry, it's quite slippy during the winter months! Descending is fun any time. The views are stunning, it's not one to rush.

Dyrham Park is a baroque English country house in an ancient deer park near the village of Dyrham in South Gloucestershire, England.

I prefer this as a descent even though it's dark through the woods. I nearly crashed into a rider in the middle of the road even with markings, so please don't think this is an empty road for climbing, it's busier than most of the other climbs around here. The surface is better than Sands Hill, Dodington and Cock lane which tend to be my preferred climbs into the Wolds.

Gradient gradually increases through Hinton. The steeper section starts as you pass the Bull Inn (to your left as you climb), it's about 400m of narrow Lane, 10-12% gradient. Not too onerous but sufficient to get your attention. Sweeping views at the top towards the Welsh Hills (on a clear day).

The oldest part of this beautiful church dates from 1280. The tower was built about 1420, and the church was considerably enlarged and altered about 50 years later. At the east end of the south aisle is the tomb of George Wynter who died in 1581 and of his wife, Anne. In the church there is also a brass of Sir Morys Russell and his wife which is at least 400 years old.

One of the easier "big climbs" in the Cotswolds, harder than Dodington though. The difficulties are fairly short lived but the climbing continues for a fair while after you think you've topped out.

It contains art works and furniture from around the world, particularly Holland, and includes a collection of Dutch Masters. The house is linked to the 13th-century church of St Peter, where many of the Blathwayt family are buried. The house is surrounded by 274 acres (111 ha) of formal gardens, and parkland which supports a herd of fallow deer. Hit around 20% incline at its peak. Good burner on way to castle coombe

Good twisty climb with steep pinches at the turnings, wouldn't descend it though, you'll have more fun down Hinton. Slippery surface.

Keep your eyes peeled and don't go too fast - blink, miss it and you'll be halfway down the hill before you realise!

Holy Trinity is a pretty church nestled in the heart of Doynton, a picturesque South Gloucestershire village. The church dates to the 12th and 14th centuries. The tower was added in 1644 but was mostly rebuilt in the 19th century. If you are hiking through, there is a decent pub nearby, too, the Cross House.

So glad this was on komoot! Very handy to know where these spots are!
