Blaise Hamlet is a group of nine small cottages around a green owned by the National Trust. They are still occupied and not open to the public, but the ensemble may be viewed from the green.

Penpole Point is a stone sundial standing at 67m on the western end of the hill. It marks the end of the Kings Weston estate. There used to be great views from here but in recent years it's become overgrown. Still a nice place to sit and enjoy a break from your walk.

Goram in legend was a giant who fought with his brother Vincent for the attentions of Avona. There are many old names around Bristol that relate to this story and features that depict where one of the giants sat, stamped, dug a trench to allow the river Avon to flow or died. An escarpment above the large village of Almondsbury, this is a glorious viewpoint across the Severn Estuary. Both Severn Bridges can be seen in all their glory, as well as the Forest of Dean and a large part of South Wales. Back in the village, there are a couple of pubs to choose from if you want to drink in more than just views.

The large village of Almondsbury is split in two by Almondsbury Hill, which gives superb views across the Severn and its iconic bridges. To the north is picturesque Lower Almondsbury, where you'll find St Mary's Church and the rustic Bowl Inn. The upper part of the village is more modern and also has a pub: the Swan Inn.

Blaise Hamlet looks like something from a fairytale or a Tolkein novel. Nine wonderfully characterful cottages are dotted around a beautiful village green. They were designed by John Nash and built in 1811 to house retired workers from the nearby Blaise Castle Estate. A walk around the green is lovely, though you're not allowed in the cottages as they are still occupied to this day.

This is a beautiful spot alongside the River Trym. In spring, the abundant wild garlic here is stunning, a treat for the senses. There are loads of interesting trees – some with magnificent exposed roots; others fallen, providing bridges across the river.
