Aggstein Castle is one of the landmarks of the Wachau region. It sits 300 meters above the Danube and offers breathtaking views. The interior of this spur castle, built on a towering rock, is also absolutely worth seeing. There is a tavern in the castle courtyard.

The Red Gate of the old market fortifications of Spitz offers a beautiful view of the market town in front of the Tausendeimerberg mountain. Next to it stands a lovely historic wayside shrine.

The parish church of St. Mauritius in Spitz on the Danube is a Gothic building with three naves and an extended chancel. The local church history dates back to the 10th century. Inside, the beautiful vaults, the magnificent Baroque altars, and the Gothic figures of the apostles are particularly worth seeing. We found the church open.
