The Klagenfurter Hut is one of the most beautiful destinations for mountaineers and hikers in the Karawanks. The hut is surrounded by numerous peaks and therefore serves as a starting point for climbing them. It is in a picturesque location on the Matschacher Alm at an altitude of 1,663 m. The Hochstuhl (obsolete Stou, Slovenian Stol) is a mountain on the border between Carinthia (Austria) and Slovenia. With a height of 2237 m, it is the highest peak in the Karawanks. Its sharp northern cliffs form an impressive valley head in the Carinthian Bärental.
