Wandleys Lane to the left. The huge white house is on the corner of the junction. Not too much traffic on this section, fairly flat land and a chilled out area to ride though

The pale is the name given to the raised banking which marks the perimeter of the medieval deer park at Slindon. When fallow deer were kept here for hunting there would have been a fence along the top of the bank.

Slindon Wood lies within the National Trust owned Slindon Estate, which boasts 1,400 hectares of woodland, downland, farmland, parkland, myriad historic landscape features, and the unspoilt village of Slindon itself. In spring, there are spectacular woodland flower displays here.
