Riverside Park hosts a range of local events, from music concerts to food fairs and funfairs. It also contains a number of pieces of public art including a gnomon sundial, great views back onto the castle and a walk alongside the River Trent.

Balderton Lake is a reclaimed sand and gravel pit which now also features a wooded area and grassland with walkways.

Really nice place by the river to stop mid ride.

Good market set in the picturesque town of Newark. Nice buildings and lots of stalls selling a wide range of items.

Newark’s market place is overlooked by the Georgian Town Hall. The town has become famous for its six annual antiques fairs, held at Newark County Showground, and thousands of antique hunters from across the world descend on the fair’s 4,000 stalls in search of a bargain.
