Laurent Perroud created the Fountain of Justice in 1561, modeled on the Bernese figure, which was 18 years older. The plump, confident female figure, dressed in a yellowish, lightly skirted woman's garment, bears the symbols of justice: the executioner's sword and scales. Her blindfolded eyes show no human considerations. At her feet lie the half-length figures of the Pope, Emperor, Mayor, and Sultan, symbols of spiritual and secular power.

The St. George Fountain, dating from 1548, originally stood on Gurzelngasse and was moved to the quieter Kornmarkt (now Börsenplatz) in 1777. The fountain trough is hewn from a single piece of Jura limestone.
