In order to better exploit the Zell springs, a tunnel was dug into the limestone. These tunnels were converted into a bunker complex during the Second World War. Unfortunately, no guided tours are possible at the moment (December 2024).

Prince-Bishop Julius Echter had the first Laurentius Church built as a parish church for Zell in 1623. It burned down in 1906. In 1928 and 1929, the current church was rebuilt on the same site as the old church. Inside you can find an old baptismal font from 1565. The relics of two catacomb saints - Alexander and Calepodius - can be found in glass coffins in a small side room. Behind the church there is a small grotto dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

The wayside shrine at the Pfaffsmühle dates back to 1689. It was erected by the Fleischmann family in gratitude for the averted danger of war.

At the Jewish courtyard in Zell is the Sukkah, which belonged to the Jewish Rosenbaum family. It was once the washhouse of the Unterzell monastery. It was used primarily for the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles. The Feast of Tabernacles is a type of harvest festival and is firmly anchored in the Jewish calendar. What is remarkable about this hut is that it was quite public and not hidden in the house. It also had a roof that could be opened using a crank. The Sukkah contains a lot of other information about the Rosenbaum family.
