Great for a stroll in the sun

A lovely viewpoint at the entrance to the Aubonne Arboretum. A little further on, you can find something to eat, restrooms, and a visit to the wood museum.

In this magnificent marshy area of national importance, we find almost all the wetlands that we find in our country. We can admire in particular a low marsh, a reed bed, a wet meadow as well as the largest flooded alder grove in Switzerland. You will also discover the Veyron which floods the entire area during high floods, the ponds of La Muraz, which were former clay pits exploited by the tile factories as well as an exceptional fauna linked to these environments. For example, you will be able to observe many species of birds.

Unique in Switzerland, the Vallon de l'Aubonne Arboretum extends over an area of around 120 ha within an agricultural and forestry perimeter of around 200 ha. It has nearly 4,000 woody plants. The Arboretum pursues a scientific, educational and recreational objective: to make trees known and appreciated. Its collections bring together 3,000 species and varieties of trees and shrubs from all temperate zones of the earth. They are grouped by species and divided into groves highlighting shapes and colors according to their climatic and edaphic requirements, while taking into account their integration into the natural environment.
