Knapwell to Chirderley mostly clean fast gravel & farm tracks

Tree lined bridleway south out of Lolworth. Good drainage either side, but liable to be muddy in winter. Off road shoes required.

With its picturesque thatched cottages and tranquil book, Elsworth is a lovely Cambridgeshire village. Walkers will find two pubs serving food – the award-winning Poacher and the George & Dragon – as well as a community-run shop. The village is passed through on the Pathfinder Long Distance Walk.

Grassy path, well kept

Good views and a bench to sit on. Downhill is grassy but I managed it even in the winter on a road bike. Connects to other bridleways when you turn right at the bottom of the hill and also the Cambourne to Caxton bridleway which avoids the A1198. Currently very muddy (January 2020). I did get to the end on a road bike although I also had to spend 15 minutes cleaning the bike!!
