It's probably the most underrated point in the peak district, with, in my opinion, the best views in the peaks.

Incredible view of the Edale valley, and much busier Mam tor. Extremely windy, a good wind stopper is a must.

Really good fun part of the walk. We took our boys aged 11 and 8 and they loved it. It’s tiring and difficult in some parts - especially the last section up to the plateau.

Newfold Farm café used to be Coopers Café.

In January 2012 the top stone "went missing" leaving just the mounting spike sticking up out of the pillar (see my photos). It was found on 01st February in a passing place near Bradwell and refitted by the National Trust.

Lovely blocky grade 1 scramble. Options for some more difficult moves near the top.

A place I walk regularly, whether to start the great ridge toward Mam Tor, or coming back from that direction to head down into hope. A gradual gradient with stone steps so manageable in all weather, just very windy a lot of the time!
