Castle and Restaurant

Exciting history about Hegi Castle, and the entire surrounding area is ideal for a tour by bike or on foot.

Closed in winter, but still nice to see. From here you also have a beautiful view and the Schlosshalde (inn) next to it is also recommended.

Right next to the Schlosshalde guesthouse (with a very beautiful garden) is the picturesque, medieval Mörsburg Castle. Opening hours: open from May to October, Wednesday to Saturday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Public tours every 3rd Sunday of the month, reservation recommended

Proper castle by the wayside

After 1841, the Mörsburg stood empty for sixty years, then the Historical Antiquarian Society Winterthur set up shop there, which has used the castle as a museum ever since. Until 2000 the castle warden lived in an apartment on the 3rd floor of the castle. Since June 2016, the Mörsburg has been looked after by the neighboring inn and restaurant Schlosshalde.
