二重になった家で特に際立っているのは、非対称に配置された破風です。今日のエーラッハの家は、実際にはかつて別々だった2つの住居から成り立っており、16世紀（1547年から1549年頃）に共通の改築と統一されたファサードデザインによって視覚的に結び付けられました。元の間取りと2つの古い家の主要な壁が保存されていたため、破風を新しい全体的なファサードの中心に単純に「数学的に」配置することはできませんでした。代わりに、元の建物の各部分の軸の上に配置されました。

The Cranach House on Weimar's market square is an important example of the early Renaissance, where Lucas Cranach the Elder lived with his son and ran a workshop until his death in 1553. The famous altarpiece for the city church of St. Peter and Paul was also created here, while today the building houses the "Theater im Gewölbe" (Theater in the Vault), a small-scale performance venue.

Even venerable old buildings have been repurposed, but the main thing is that they are kept in good condition. They are certainly beautiful to look at.

On the cycle path connecting the towns of Umpferstedt and Frankendorf, you pass this "highest" point. It's a nice little break for the kids, who can count to see if they can see all the villages. Otherwise, the route continues leisurely through fields on good asphalt through the region.
