7月 4, 2025, Thompson Water
Take time to go off the trail to the bird hides and vantage points around the water. The route is best in spring before the nettles take over the path in summer!

4月 20, 2025, Norfolk Songline Stone 1
The inscription is a bit faded now, but reads: The footprint of our ancestors Familiar as our own faces Remote as fossils Written on clay And washed away Over & over Over and over For more info about the Songline see: https://www.luphen.org.uk/walks/peddars_way/norfolk_songline.htm

12月 23, 2022, Pingo Pond on the Pingo Trail
The Pingo Trail is an 8 mile hike around Thompson Common which takes in the delights of the ice age pools known as pingos. As the ground froze, water underneath froze to create little hills. When the ice melted the earth dropped back down and created the pingos. They are usually found in places such as Greenland and Alaska so it is an interesting and unique place to visit.

11月 2, 2022, Pingo Trail Bomb Hole
An excellent bomb hole a few 100 meters off Peddars Way. It is worth the slight detour to get to. Watch out for the tree at the bottom, but otherwise a fairly comfortably bomb hole!

Be mindful that there's an expanse of still water to one side of this site which means a plethora of midges at certain times of year

If you plan on having a dog with you, then double check where you can take it around Thompson Water. The main footpath that runs beside Thompson Water is Peddar's Way, so dogs are allowed there, but the rest of the reserve is owned by Norfolk Wildlife Trust and some areas are dog free zones at some points of the year.

4月 3, 2021, Little Cressingham Wind and Watermill
This combined wind and watermill is one-of-a-kind in Norfolk. Built in 1821 on the site of an earlier watermill, its water-wheel once turned two pairs of stones on the first floor whilst its sails turned two pairs of stones on the fourth floor. Unfortunately, the mill is not open to the public. However, it is still worth looking at the building from the outside and getting a photo.
