Powerful & pretty waterfall over a big stepped weir built to control the water used to power the nearby Mills (now apartments) in years gone by.

My favourite place on the Monsal trail, good for a rest and lunch, but also somewhere to leave the trail and link up mountain bike routes if that’s what you fancy

As mentioned before there is a bike shop. As well as doing all the bike stuff they also sell drinks and snacks for anyone looking for a break! Be careful getting there as a hill is quite steep and slippy!

Great village, very pretty. Nice place to stop when the sun is out . Bigger than it looks if you cycle along some of the back lanes leading down to Chee dale, Litton, Cressbrook etc.

Nice cafe , in Picturesque location.small outside space for seating but plenty of space for bikes and sitting next door in the public space around the cathedral. Had a lovely bacon Sandwich and coffee to keep me going.😃

The northern end of the monsal trail, from here you can head either east or west on the Pennine bridleway (steep climb bs foe booth) north past the bike shop on a quiet road until you reach the busy A6, or south all the way to Bakewell.

Tideswell Lounge is a cafe in the town that is open Wednesdays to Sundays, and they welcome cyclists. Good menu complimented by a big list of daily specials. Food is very good quality.

The Buxton end of the Monsal Trail. There is a bike shop with basic mechanic facilities and bike hire. The Monsal Trail is 8.5 miles of traffic free cycling from here to Bakewell, it makes a very nice day out.
