The towpath has eroded and the thorn hedge to the right hand side has completely overgrown onto the narrow path. This section would be tricky to walk along, I was bike-packing and had to push the bike and skoot along long sections. Felt really sketchy, I cannot recommend this section.

Lovely old lift-bridge spanning across the Oxford Canal. These unique bridges built along the canal are not common in the UK. The only other similiar set are in North Wales along the Llangollen Canal.

This stone bridge spans over the famous Oxford Canal and offers up some wonderful views down the waterway. You may be lucky enough to spot some narrow canal boats as you pass by.

Good ride and the train back . Its a bit of a muddy path in places so best in the dry

Canal towpath in various states of disrepair. Falling apart in places and mostly rough and bouncy to ride on

A simply gorgeous tree-lined village of thatched cottages and quaint English charm. King's Sutton is a lovely place for a mooch after a day's walk on the Oxford Canal. Regular trains to Oxford make it easily accessible. The 198-foot (60.4 m) spire of St Peter and St Paul's Church is an impressive sight, dominating the village's skyline. Refreshment wise, you're spoilt for choice, as there are three pubs: the 18th-Century Butchers Arms, the White Horse and the Three Tuns.

The thriving market town of Banbury is the most northern in Oxfordshire and has long been an important link with the Midlands. An important stop on the twin arteries of the Oxford Canal and the railway, it makes for a good base for exploring the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as some pleasant walking along the Oxford Canal. The town is also the start point for the Jurassic Way long-distance trail.
