Pickett's Lock (No. 15) is a lock on the River Lea Navigation in the London Borough of Enfield, England and is located near Edmonton, London. It gives its name to the surrounding area of Pickett's Lock. In common with other locks as far upstream as Ponder's End Lock, it is large enough to take barges of up to 130 tons. However, it has not been upgraded to power operation, so it must be manually operated.

Green, open and family filled. Safer than a typical park IMO

King George V Reservoir, is part of the Lee Valley Reservoir Chain that supplies London with drinking water. It covers 170 hectares (420 acres), making it London’s largest. It is one of the two Chingford Reservoirs (the other being William Girling) that are together designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The reservoir is a major wintering ground for wildfowl and wetland birds, including nationally important numbers of some species. The water also forms a moult refuge for a large population of wildfowl during the late summer months

Enfield Lock (No 13) is a lock on the River Lee Navigation, first built in 1725 The lock is situated close to the former Royal Small Arms Factory now known as Enfield Island Village.

The ghost of Geoffrey De Mandeville, Earl of Sussex and Hertfordshire and Constable of the Tower of London has been haunting the Moat since the 12th Century. He was arrested for treason and hid his treasure down  a very deep well which he guards. Many have tried to find the well but so far none have succedded

The moat’s main use was probably defensive. One use of the lodge would have been to detain individuals who had broken the harsh forest laws. The moat would also have helped to drain the site, been used for rubbish disposal and possibly for keeping fish.
