The Protestant St. Mary's Church is the oldest of the three large city churches in the Hanseatic city of Greifswald

Right next to the village church is the café and guesthouse Blohm. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys delicious ice cream.

If the church is locked, you can get the key either from the parish office or from the Gruel family. Highly recommended. It is also worth looking inside the church. In addition to the carved altar, there are also late Gothic wall paintings and a frieze with larger-than-life figures of apostles from the Middle Ages.

In 1280, St. Jacobi Church, dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen, was first mentioned by name. The brick church consists of a three-aisled hall and the somewhat narrower square west tower. The originally higher tower had a half-timbered top until a fire in 1955, which was not restored when the tower roof was reconstructed.
