In the museum you will find a rich collection of weapons, uniforms, documentation, diaries and photos. The German helmets naturally take a special place. The museum covers an area of 450 m², and a model of 30 m² shows the course of the battle.

The museum originated from the private collection of the Stroobants family, who ran the IJzer-winninghoeve during the First World War. One of the children who lived on the farm at the time showed everything he had found there during the first commemoration of the battle in 1957. The tent from back then has since made way for a brick museum building, where not only a complete reconstruction of the battle can be seen, but also everything that has to do with the history of Halen. The museum has a very nice collection of uniforms and (silver) helmets.
