Château d'Amcomont is a historic castle built by Alexandre de Contreras, a Spanish-born nobleman, and later purchased by Georges Gendebien, a prominent lawyer and politician. The castle is surrounded by a wooded park where the tomb of Anna Villabrun, the presumed mistress of King Leopold II, is located. This view will add interest to your run as you pass by.

Farnières Castle was built into the local arkose rock by the nobleman Fernand Orban de Xivry in the 1920s. The castle is today occupied by the CRH Domaine de Farnières, a center which offers comfortable accommodation, a kitchen simple and friendly and a range of engaging activities for all ages. You can also admire the ancient chapel of Farnières which, according to legend, was built after a statue of the Virgin Mary was found at the foot of a tree. The castle and its chapel are not open to the public, but they can serve as a starting point for magnificent trails in the forests.

Sneaking through the forest and catching a glimpse of the sun is one of the highlights of this forest trail. Very picturesque and very interesting.

From here, going around the contours of the hill, the view opens up to you and you get a fantastic view of the valley and forests on the other side.

Although it is largely a managed forest, the hypnotic repetition of the trees is always a pleasure to walk through. You'll be sure to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and quiet during your hike.
