Beautiful deciduous forest with many old beeches and oaks. Hilly forest between the valleys of the Hoyoux and its tributaries, the Wappe and Lillot streams.

A memorial commemorating the impact of WWII, which was very tangible here. The castle served as a camp for a German army unit when German troops invaded Belgium in 1940. In 1944, the American 300th Combat Engineers used it for the same purpose. The furniture was therefore removed, and the soldiers slept on the dining room floor, while the officers stayed in the upstairs rooms. A memorial trail (chemin de la memoire) starts here and winds through the surrounding area, passing memorials.

The castle, whose oldest foundations date back to 1740, acquired its neoclassical appearance around 1820. It was subsequently renovated several times. It also played a significant role in World War II, first serving as a camp for German troops and later for American ones. In 2010, it was abandoned, and its roof eventually collapsed. It was then nicknamed "Hotel Congo" and became a destination for "urbexers" (decay photographers). Until 2016, when it was purchased by an investor and converted into apartments.

A beautiful village center surrounds the Hoyoux Bridge. Here you'll find the Neoclassical Notre-Dame church. The current church was built in 1847 on the site of a former house of worship. The interior includes a beautiful Christ on the Cross from 1520, from a workshop in 's-Hertogenbosch, a 17th-century statue of Saint Giles with a doe, a 65 cm silver monstrance (1650), and two 27 cm silver incense burners from the 19th century. A war memorial commemorates the world wars in a small flowerbed next to the church. There are also many beautiful authentic houses built into the local limestone.
