This square cloister garden forms the tranquil heart of the abbey and is surrounded by neo-Gothic cloisters. Here, the Benedictine monks traditionally walked in silence from one building to the next. In the center of the garden stands a simple fountain, which, together with the well-maintained greenery, creates a serene atmosphere. The courtyard can only be visited during official guided tours, but from behind the galleries, you'll have a beautiful view of this historic site. Those passing through Maredsous—on foot, by bike, or while touring the Molignée region—will find a moment of peace and contemplation in this garden. It is a place where architecture, nature, and silence converge perfectly.
