Maredsous Abbey is known for its beautiful location in the Molignée Valley, but visitors will discover an additional gem: the tranquil courtyard. This square cloister garden forms the tranquil heart of the abbey and is surrounded by neo-Gothic cloisters. Here, the Benedictine monks traditionally walked in silence from one building to the next. In the center of the garden stands a simple fountain, which, together with the well-maintained greenery, creates a serene atmosphere. The courtyard can only be visited during official guided tours, but from behind the galleries, you'll have a beautiful view of this historic site. Those passing through Maredsous—on foot, by bike, or while touring the Molignée region—will find a moment of peace and contemplation in this garden. It is a place where architecture, nature, and silence converge perfectly.

Falaën Castle is a fortified farmstead located in Falaën, in the province of Namur. The castle was built by the Polchet family between 1670 and 1673. It was originally a large quadrangular building, defended by four corner towers and a gatehouse equipped with a drawbridge. This was how the bourgeoisie protected themselves at the time from bands of plunderers. In the eighteenth century, the castle farm passed to the Coppin family, who owned it for two centuries. Thanks to the family's popularity, the castle survived the revolutionary period unscathed. In the twentieth century, the castle was sold to the Delhaye family. One tower, the moat, the drawbridge, and some of the buildings on the south side have disappeared. A pillory can be seen in the courtyard, a rare sight in a manor house.
