The Polygon Forest, also known as Polygon Wood, is a historically and ecologically valuable forest area in Zonnebeke. The forest is located on the Central West Flemish ridge and is an important breeding ground for birds of prey such as sparrowhawks, kestrels and buzzards. The Polygon Forest also houses important war memorials, including the Buttes New British Cemetery and the smaller Polygon Wood Cemetery. These cemeteries are a tribute to the soldiers who died during the First World War. An interesting anecdote concerns the Scott Post and the New Zealand Bunkers, which can still be found in the forest. These bunkers were built by the Germans and later occupied by the Australian divisions in 1917.

The Saint Paul's Church in Langemark, also known as the Saint Paul's Bekering Church, is a neo-Gothic hall church built between 1923 and 1925. The church, designed by architect Thierry Nolf, has an imposing western tower and stands on the market square, surrounded by lime trees. The original church was completely destroyed during the First World War, and the current structure was rebuilt afterwards. Inside the church you will find stained glass windows and a contemporary work of art, "Way of the Cross of Love", by the Brussels painter Luc Hoenraet.

The Gasthuisbosdreef in Zonnebeke is a beautiful route for mountain bikers, with a combination of straight sections and challenging forest paths. The avenue takes you through densely overgrown areas and along narrow paths that test your technical skills, especially in wet weather.

This station building is history. Now a nice place to rest.

These singletacks in this neighborhood are never boring! Be careful, just like I said, small resistance is needed in Keuneleute, the gradient increases to just under 10%, the average is 5%. The worst climb is to enter at the south gate and keep to the right. Don't forget to visit the polder forest, closer to Westrozebeke.
