Bruneck (Italian: Brunico) is a picturesque town in South Tyrol (northern Italy), known for its medieval old town, alpine surroundings, and outdoor activities. Located in the Puster Valley (Val Pusteria) at an altitude of approximately 838 m, it is a popular starting point for hikers, skiers, and culture enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, it only happens once a year. In 2024, it was on Sunday (October 13th) at 12:30 p.m. for about half an hour. Cows decorated with large bells walk and sometimes "run" through the street, followed by a parade of brass bands and a few floats. Afterwards, the event continues in the festival tent.

With a length of 35 km and a water catchment area of 390 km², the Gader (Ladin: La Gran Ega = the big water) is the second largest tributary of the Rienz. The highest elevation in the Gader catchment area is 3151 m (Piz Boè). The mouth is near St. Lorenzen at 800 m above sea level.
