The Rifugio Monte Stino, at 1,437 m, is nestled in the Val Sabbia, between Lake Idro and Lake Garda. Opened in 2014, it offers typical local cuisine and large outdoor spaces. After a partly very steep driveway on - asphalted - old military road you reach the beautifully situated Refugio. Perfect for a rest and refreshment. From here it is only a few meters in altitude to the summit of Monte Stino. It is also not far to the old positions on the rocky outcrop above Lake Idro with their wonderful views. This is where the legendary trail with 136 switchbacks starts.
