A great day trip for the whole family. Refreshments are available at the Schwarzachtal snack bar (approx. 45 minutes' walk away).

The ascent from the Isskogel is not for the faint of heart. From the halfway point, the path almost resembles a via ferrata. Beautiful panorama, but we turned around anyway and will tackle the Kreuzjoch from the other side tomorrow 😉 Better safe than sorry!

great view and bench to relax

This nature trail is highly recommended, but be careful: there is no paved path. You'll walk over rocks, across several streams, and sometimes directly through the streambed. Surefootedness and hiking gear are essential!

Take your time along the way to enjoy the wonderful view.

The rock gate is located in the wild and romantic gorge of the Krummbach and is the highlight of the crossing.

The summit is easily accessible. A summit book and stamps are available.

A truly wonderful, rustic alpine hut with very welcoming hosts, delicious food, and homemade cakes. In summer, there's a Sunday morning pint with well-known bands from the Zillertal and Pinzgau regions. The approximately 45-minute hike from the Schwarzachtal forest parking lot leads through idyllic nature along the Schwarzach stream and is suitable for young and old.
