In the background you can see the Frakbachjoch+Rosskopf. There, on November 4th, 1957, Josef Leiter (smuggler Seppl) & Alois Gruber (Schtina Lois) were swept 300m down in an avalanche. The story can be read in the book Tageswerk by Hans Rieder. LG

A beautiful reservoir that is used to generate electricity, but is still extremely pretty to look at. The hiking trail around the lake can be walked at any time of the year. Pedal boating and sailing is also possible here.

Great view of the valley

Very nice tour, but just as easy from Zell am Ziller as from Mayrhofen. My 630 Accu consumed only one bar.

The Ahornsee is actually a small artificial pond. There is a lot going on and there is something for children here. Lots of wooden loungers to enjoy.

One of the five reservoirs in the Zillertal is located at 1,850 m above sea level, the Zillergründl reservoir or Zillergrund reservoir, built in the 1980s. A toll road (€8) leads from Mayrhofen to the reservoir. However, you cannot drive directly up to the reservoir. The last parking lot is in the hamlet of Bärenbad. Here at the latest you have to change to a bus. This will take you to the dam at the lake.
