The castle dates back to the 14th century and is still in excellent condition today. It is owned by the Borromeo family so it is not always open to the public, but it is possible to book it for events or celebrations.

Beautiful Borromeo castle from the 1400s

The Borromeo Castle of Camairago, now Catelgerundo, was built in the 1400s, and boasts a fascinating history of battles and military headquarters. The rectangular structure is bordered by towers and a splendid entrance courtyard. The east side offers a breathtaking panorama of the Adda valley and, on a clear day, of the Alps. Stop and visit it to discover its rich history and admire the suggestive surrounding landscape.

In 2016 the union of the Municipalities of Camairago and Cavacurta gave rise to Castelgerundo, already experienced in Napoleon's time.
