The memorial to the fallen of World War I, dedicated in May 1920, stands in the city park. It is constructed of sandstone blocks in an oval shape, crowned by a reclining lion. Dedications were inscribed on two sides, surrounded by laurel wreaths. The inscriptions are no longer visible today. Only the laurel wreaths remain.

Unfortunately, the observation tower on the Wimberg was closed during my hike, so you couldn't see the surrounding landscape from above.

The path along the Parthe River is unfortunately just a trail lined with stinging nettles in the summer. But if you persevere, it's absolutely beautiful. Tip: Wear long trousers and bring an umbrella or walking sticks to push the weeds aside.
