"A few blocks from the main square, at Via De Amicis 2, you'll find the signposted Museo Peppone e Don Camillo, opened in 1989 and named in that order because the mayor at the time was a communist (!). In front of it stands the tank from "The Great Battle of Don Camillo," and the locomotive that was supposed to transport Peppone to his exile in Rome is also still preserved. The lovingly curated exhibition about the making of the films features newspaper articles, photos, and many relics from the filming, such as bicycles and Peppone's fiery red motorcycle. With the mural that adorns part of the wall here, the artists honor an early female cyclist: Alfonsina Morini Strada (1891 to 1959). The fact that the creators of the mural did a good job of portraying her can be seen in the Wikipedia image database, as there is a photograph of her at the following link =>> https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfonsina_Strada#/media/Datei:Alfonsina_Morini.jpg Apart from the sporting successes she achieved during her sporting career – which spanned a good quarter of a century – Alfonsina also made Italian cycling history: In 1924, she was the only woman ever to participate in the Giro d'Italia.

This is the exit from the Museum of Don Camillo and Peppone. We couldn't find the entrance. Tickets are supposedly available at the tourist information office on the main street near this house.

On 2 June 2001, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first film, two bronze statues of the two characters were placed on Piazza Matteotti, who "greet" each other from one side of the square to the other (that of Don Camillo in the church part ; that of Peppone in front of the town hall), created by Andrea Zangani.
