The impressive church is usually referred to by locals simply as "the Pantheon." Construction began in 1919 after the First World War. Its circular nave is unique. The cylindrical structure is characterized by large columns with expansive windows. These columns support a small terrace with several smaller windows, each crowned by a stone cross. A small reinforced concrete bell tower rises from the church roof. It is an important memorial to the fallen of the First World War, as it houses the remains of Syracusan soldiers who died on the front lines during that conflict.

Superlative. I recommend going at sunset and waiting for the church to the left to turn gold. It's stunning for photos!

Dating back to pre-Christian times, the deities of Roman and Greek mythology, in particular, have survived in the collective memory of people in Europe to this day. Throughout art history, they have repeatedly been depicted as motifs in paintings or—as in this fountain—as statues. Here we encounter a sculpture of Diana, accompanied by an animal. In Roman mythology, she was primarily known as the goddess of the hunt and the moon.

It's open again: Beautiful corner, even if the descent from the car park is not easy, but they are apparently currently working on renewing the path (as of October 2024). Jumping in and lying around is allowed, it's great fun. On the way back you can take a long walk and enjoy magnificent views down into the gorge, after another climb you cross the road back to the car park. Entrance fee at the top: adults 2€, children 1€, parking 4€, worth it! Arrival from Syracuse approx. 45m
