The church of Danewitz in the Barnim district was built as a fieldstone church in the 13th century. The original hall-like form was retained after a fire in the early 19th century and a brick tower was added during the reconstruction.

Looks very nice (from the outside, unfortunately it was closed when I was there very early in the morning).

A birdhouse in the middle of the forest. The birds will be happy :)

A very quaint village with a strong rural character. The church is of course a highlight, but so is the farm shop. The lavish festivals that are sometimes held here in the village are not to be underestimated.

There is a small beer garden next to the church cemetery opposite the former village pub. Very nice there!!!

Danewitz was first mentioned in a document in 1375 as a village in the land register of the Mark Brandenburg. The place was laid out in the 12th century and was influenced in the Middle Ages by its location on the “Via Bizal” trade route.
