This route connected Domodossola and Locarno and, in ancient times, it was the route taken by the people of the valley to reach the city markets to stock up on all those products that came from the fertile plain.

Church which houses the famous "Treasure of Craveggia" inside.  It is a real treasure, which arrived in Val Vigezzo thanks to the connection of some emigrant jewelers with the royals of France, the most famous piece is in fact the funeral mantle of Louis XIV.

The Scopello pass is located at 970 meters above sea level and connects Cannobio, on Lake Maggiore, with Santa Maria Maggiore and the Vigezzo valley. The top of the pass is dedicated to the cyclist Marco Pantani.
