The estate, built in 1889, is located in the idyllic village of Trenthorst. It has been federal property for several years. The Thünen Institute for Organic Agriculture conducts research into current ecological issues and advises the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. Cycle paths could be better but the landscape is stunningly beautiful here.

The mansion (white) built on the estate in 1889 has been federal property for several years. and is home to the Thünen Institute for Organic Agriculture, which researches current ecological issues. The origins go back to the 14th century, and the farmyard and gatehouse in red clinker are particularly beautiful.
