Villa Barbaro in Maser, halfway up the Asolo hills, is a Venetian villa built by Andrea Palladio between 1554 and 1558-1560 for the humanist Daniele Barbaro and his brother Marcantonio, ambassador of the Republic of Venice, transforming the old palace medieval property in a splendid country house suited to the study of the arts and intellectual contemplation. It is decorated with a cycle of frescoes representing one of Paolo Veronese's masterpieces. The complex, which also includes a Palladian temple, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.
