The giant bench of Arvier can be easily reached thanks to a circular path that starts from the center of the town and follows the stream that fed the old mill in the Verney hamlet.

From this rest area with a splendid wooden bench you have a splendid view of the valley below. Great for a relaxing stop.

Beautiful route, it took me a bit shorter than indicated. You should wear mountain boots, even though it is stated here that you mainly go through 'forest'.

From Lake Fondo you have a beautiful view of the Rutor massif. The perfect destination for an excursion or the ideal stop for a break, if you follow the Alta Via 2.

This bivouac is newly built, dates back to 2021, and is named after the mountaineer Cosimo Zappelli. He was a mountain guide and ski instructor. He roped up with Walter Bonatti and edited books on Mont Blanc. He also participated in expeditions to Iran, Africa, the Caucasus and the Andes. There are 10 beds.
