A beautiful peak near other higher peaks in the Biella area. Mombarone is clearly visible a short distance away. Bric Paglie can be reached from both sides, along fairly steep trails. This makes it possible to hike in a circular route.

As an excursion I have continued several times to Cima Mucrone, passing by "Limbo", while when there is snow and it is good, ski-skins and climb up to here or to the ridge a little higher. A decidedly very panoramic peak on the mountains of the Valle d'Aosta and on the Ivrea area with the lakes of Ivrea clearly visible. There are several access routes, and there is even a comfortable road leading up to the slopes of this peak

Once you arrive at the Mombarone refuge, it is worth climbing up to here. The view extends to 360 ° in particular on Monte Rosa. An imposing statue is 19 meters high, the original of which was destroyed by lightning in 1948, and rebuilt in 1991. In its base, closed by a glass window, there is the statue of the Black Madonna, symbol of these Biella Alps, and in particular of the sanctuary of Oropa.

It is the most easily accessible hill on the Cresta, especially from the Valle d'Aosta side, and does not present any technical difficulties.

Going up from Fontainemore towards the Coda refuge, after a fairly steep uphill stretch, you reach this panoramic hill. From here in about half an hour you reach the Coda refuge.
