The Torre di Pisa refuge takes its name from the nearby oblique rock spur which recalls the Tuscan tower of the same name. The Roda di Vaèl refuge is located 2,283 meters above sea level on the Ciampaz saddle, in the heart of the Catinaccio and Rosengarten group, among the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
