From the narrow bridge, you have a beautiful view of the River Driva flowing beneath you over a rapid. As the bridge is single-lane and the rushing water is quite noisy, you should keep an eye out for oncoming traffic.

Don’t miss the Magalaupet Rapids. From this lay-by head to the footbridge over the gorge, where the Driva squeezes into a narrow channel and thunders through spectacular rock formations.

Geitfjellet is a superb objective for a hike from Trondheim. At 1,365 feet (416 m) it provides excellent views across Trondheim's bay and beyond.

A hike around beautiful Lianvatnet takes around 40 minutes and is easily accessed from Trondheim. The Lian station, the terminus of the Gråkallbanen Line, is a great place to start your hike. Neighbouring Haukvatnet is another good option for a scenic lake hike.

Lianvatnet is on the very eastern fringes of Bymarka, not too far from the city. Its grassy surroundings are great for a picnic, while the lake is a popular fishing spot, though you'll need a license. A loop of the lake takes around 40 minutes.
