Beautiful fort, visit with caution

Great starting point for a hike to Forte San Marco

Everything is wonderful! The climb to get there is beautiful, the fort is beautiful, and the setting is beautiful. Unfortunately, it's a bit sad to see such a structure in a state of total abandonment. It's worth it, whether by bike or on foot.

Beautiful military road that leads to Forte San Marco, climbing along the steep southern ridge. It is always slightly moderately uphill, full of hairpin bends and almost always with a great view of the lower Val Lagarina, the morainic hills of Garda and the lake itself. Built by the Sapper Engineers of the Kingdom of Italy starting in 1880.
