The Siemsen Warehouse, visible from afar, towers above the buildings of Eckernförde's inner harbor and has a distinctive character. Built in 1879 as a five-story cube made of yellow brick with an attic and a flat roof, it is distinguished by its façade, pilaster strips and floor-dividing bands. Its numerous storage hatches and the preserved wooden structure of the warehouse floors still bear witness to the function of the former warehouse of the Clausen salt works.

The view from the lighthouse, with its maritime flair, is a true feast for the eyes and always a popular subject. Especially when viewed alongside sailing ships, cruise ships, and everything else moving on the water 💙...
