View of the steep funicular that allows you to reach the sanctuary of Montevergine in about seven minutes from Mercogliano.

A small lake that can be easily reached from various locations, it should be of karst origin (that is, generated by the collapse of a karst cave and with a deep effluent or tributary).

Campo Maggiore is a spectacular plateau where there is a small lake usually dry in the warmer months.... At the ends, two closed shelters. There are also picnic areas with braziers on the road that runs along the expanse.

The Montevergine Abbey Sanctuary is an important place of worship. The history of this complex is linked to San Guglielmo da Vercelli, a hermit, who lived between the 11th and 12th centuries, who on his journey to Jerusalem stopped here to devote himself to meditation, thus giving up the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Over the centuries the small original chapel was transformed into the current sanctuary, becoming the favorite destination of many devotees.
